How Can Counselling With Me Help You?

I am a warm, down-to-earth counsellor offering a confidential, safe and supportive space for therapy, allowing you to talk through any worries and anxieties you may have.

Who is it for?

I work with adults, who might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of a safe and confidential space to talk.

I specialise in helping you to build resilience so you feel able to cope with life. I can work with you to find ways to manage or change unhealthy coping strategies, such as disordered eating patterns, self-harm, alcohol reliance, substance misuse, and other addictive behaviours. I can support you in finding ways to balance your emotions while boosting your self-esteem and self-compassion.

Resilience refers to positive adaptation, or the ability to maintain or regain (good) mental health, despite experiencing adversity

Issues supported?

Whatever your concerns, you can bring them to counselling and be met with understanding and compassion. There is no topic ‘off the table’, including gender and sexuality. I work in a neurodivergent-affirming and creative way and offer a safe space for exploration and discovery.

You may be facing challenges in relationships, with a partner or other family members. Maybe there is current or previous abuse. Perhaps you are struggling to come to terms with a loss of some kind, whether that be a situation, a person or a beloved pet. I can also support you with women’s issues and life transitions, such as peri-menopause, menopause, infertility, termination and IVF.

What are the next steps?

I offer a completely free initial 15-minute chat in person, via Zoom, or on the phone. This is an opportunity to find out more about what you are looking to get from counselling and to see if we are a good fit to work together. You can then go away and have a think… If it feels right, we can then book in your first therapy session.

I will email you an agreement to read, so we both feel clear about the safe boundaries around therapy. In our first session, we will go through this again and agree on how we can best work together. Whether you have particular aims or goals, or you just want to start talking and see what happens… it is all fine. Your session, your pace…. I will adapt to your counselling needs as we go.

Your wellbeing is my priority. We'll work together in a way that feels compassionate, respectful, and tailored to your needs.
